I’m just bursting with amazement thinking about this little girl from San Bernardino, stepping onto the Crafton Hills College stage with not one, but two associate degrees in sciences and math, all before most kids hit middle school.

It’s so uplifting to hear how Alisa, who was reading books by age two and tackling algebra at five, found learning as fun as riding a bike, thanks to her dad Rafael homeschooling her from eight in the morning to four in the afternoon, six days a week.

I love how her professor, Sandra Ruiz, said Alisa’s curiosity never stops, always exploring new ideas, and now she’s dreaming big, applying to Stanford to study computer science. The way her family’s love and an inheritance gave her this chance, despite the hard work, makes my heart sing.
